BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Before Jesus' ascension, He commanded His disciples to stay and wait for "power from on high". This baptism of power transforms believers, and equips them for their mission of service and proclamation.

Scripture to read: Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:8, John 14:19-21, 26, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-12

"The Holy Spirit is the gift of the risen Christ. His anointing, filling and empowering work, acts as a baptism of love that gives power to make Jesus real to you and known to others."
-Winkie Pratney

"A church in the land without the Spirit is rather a curse than a blessing. If you have not the Spirit of God, Christian worker, remember that you stand in somebody else's way; you are a fruitless tree standing where a fruitful tree might grow." -C.H. Spurgeon

"Before we go to our knees to receive the baptism of fire, let me beg of you to see to it that your souls are in harmony with the will and purpose of the Holy Spirit whom you seek."         -William Booth
